Escape from Cone-y Island

Yes, it's true...the stitches are out!  The cone, it is retired!

Maisie is left with the possibility of a scar, but I think her fur will probably cover it if that's the case.  If not, well...we do live in Uptown, so I figure it will just give her some much needed street cred.

Maisie gained a whole pound in just under two weeks from lack of exercise, but now has permission to run and play with no restrictions once again.  Even so, the incision area is still kinda raw so I think I'll take her to work with me for one more day, then allow her to roam free at daycare on Thursday.

I am thrilled to have this whole situation behind us.  Maisie was her typical terrified shaky self at the vet's office and is very glad to be home.  Now if she could only get her mama to stop making her sit still while that annoying flash goes off in her face...
"OMG, another photo???  Find a new subject, woman!"

Glad to hear that the cone of shame is gone! Buster's second-to-last surgery scar (alas, there have been multiples) grew over nicely. Unfortunately this time round he has developed a potential thyroid problem so a couple of months on his fur is just not growing back properly and he still has huge baldy patches! Yipers.

were SOOO happy the cone is gone. if her fur is like Havis (which it looks like, it will def heal over the scar). Havi is the worst subject to photograph, we feel your pain!

I am glad to hear that Maisie is doing better. And I bet Maisie is happy to be without the cone and running free again.

Hooray for losing the cone of shame for good. I saw your comment on Pet Blogs United and we would love to feature you sometime.

If you're interested e-mail us at PBU at comcast dot net!

I'm so glad Maisie is back on her feet! I'm sure she was thrilled to be able to see what's going on next to her other than a wall of cone. Also, thanks for the well wishes for Skye, she's also back to her wild and crazy ways - can't keep a pitbull down!
