How to Wake Up on a Monday Morning

1) it's important not to get out of bed too quickly after the alarm goes off.

2) once you do get out of bed, scratch as necessary.

3) on a cold winter morning, you may want to warm up in front of a heating vent.

4) think seriously about what you need to accomplish in the week ahead.

5) finally, wait impatiently for that woman to step away from the computer and go downstairs to feed you!

I'm so glad you started your blog; I love reading about fellow-Chicagoans especially with similar dogs. Did Maisie have a different name when you adopted her? I used to always check out the NLOL site, but I'm not sure if I remember. I'm looking forward to reading more!

her name was Harley when I first started fostering her. she'd only had the name for a couple months and once I knew she was mine, I changed it. it seemed masculine to me, and I never like when people give a tough sounding name to a perceived "tough" breed (pits, Rotts, Dobermans, etc). We had a Chihuahua renamed Harley once at NLOL, that seemed fitting. ;)

Maddie's morning ritual includes jumping out of bed, banging her tail on the closet door until Tony gets up, scratching as necessary, stretching and then sneezing in Tony's face as he attempts to put his socks on.
